Hemingway’s Meeting Place Heidelberg

On first night in Heidelberg we ate at Hemingway’s Meeting Place. It was a nice restaurant.  We also stayed in their pension.   It had great food and nice rooms. The rooms overlooked the Neckar river and the bridge to old town was right outside the entrance. The bridge is very cool and everything we wanted to do in Heidelberg was within walking distance of the hotel.

Here’s a quick video someone on youtube took of the restaurant.

Heidelberg, Germany – Castle

On our third day on our Honeymoon in 1993, we drove the BMW to Heidelberg. We loved Heidelberg.

Rheinfels Castle

We also toured the Rheinfels Castle on our second day in the Rhine Valley. It was a nice old castle but beat up. Heidelberg Castle is coming up soon.

Castle Burg Rheinstein Rhine Castle

We toured Burg Rheinstein on our second day. This is a more recent video of the castle.

Bacharach Germany Rhine River Town

On our first day on the Rhine before heading to Cochem on the Mosel we stopped in Bacharach for lunch and a bottle of wine. Here’s a nice video by Rick Steve’s on Bacharach.

Cochem Mosel River Germany

On our first afternoon of our Honeymoon in 1993, we drove the BMW rental car down the Rhine to Cochem on the Mosel river and had a bottle of wine on the park bench. Pretty close to where the video below was shot. We were still worn out from

Here’s another cool Mosel Valley video with tourist highlights

We ate in Rudesheim Germany our first night on Honeymoon

We ate in Rudesheim Germany our first night on Honeymoon. The restaurant in this video at 49 seconds is where we ate dinner on our first night on our Honeymoon in Rudesheim, Germany. We had a great time, especially when the whole restaurant started singing. It was a tough short trip back to the hotel in the BMW after all the German wine.

Rhine Castles Germany

We visited many of these during our stay on the German Rhine during our Germany Honeymoon back in 1993.

Hotel Krone Assmannshausen

Hotel Krone, AssmannshausenBack in 1993, Esther and I stayed at the Hotel Krone Assmannshausen / Rüdesheim-Assmannshausen.  We loved it. I remember waking up our first night of our German honeymoon and setting at the window desk watching the ships in the river and looking at Esther sleep in bed. She had major jet lag.  I had been traveling with EDS to Europe the last year so I was used to the travel. We did not take this video but shows a ton of highlights we saw around our hotel.

Great shot in front of the hotel and down by the Rhine

We did not shoot this video, but its some nice shots of some stuff we did around the Krone hotel in Assmannshausen.
